Seborrheic keratosis and actinic keratosis are keratin growths on the skin. There are several types, with different causes and appearances. A seborrheic keratosis is a waxy or scaly growth that can be brown, black or light tan. They are described as the appearance of being stuck to the skin. Actinic keratosis are dry, rough, scaly patches that can be pink, red, brown or other. They are caused by the exposure to UV light.
Physimed MediSpa is using the latest technology in IPL called Lumecca from Inmode. IPL, or intense pulsed light, is a versatile photo-rejuvenation treatment that can improve a range of issues on the face, hands, neck, and chest, including brown spots, broken capillaries, and rosacea. The energy stimulates collagen and elastin production, which may help improve fine wrinkles and shrink enlarged pores. After just one use, patients notice significant improvements in the complexion and clarity of the skin. Lumecca operates using photothermolysis, which provides a photofacial through the delivery of a comfortable light treatment without harming the surface so there’s little to no downtime.
