SUMMARY
Are you looking for remarkable results without surgery?
Morpheus8 is a micro-needling procedure that is paired with the use of radiofrequency energy. The micro-needles create tiny wounds in the skin that trigger the body’s natural healing response while delivering energy deep into the skin. When your body heals, it stimulates collagen and elastin production that firms and remodels the skin. A mild to moderate neck lift or facelift can be emulated without surgery thanks to this minimally-invasive technology.

This minimally invasive technology can give patients the result of a mild to moderate necklift or facelift. By pairing micro-needling with radiofrequency energy, Morpheus8 heats up the skin and activates the body’s repair response. The response encourages the production of new collagen and elastin, restructures existing collagen, and stimulates a faster rate cell turnover. This firms and remodels skin and gives it a better tone, even texture, and shrunken oil glands.
It can be used anywhere on your body, including the abdomen or buttocks, though it’s most popular for the face, jawline, and neck. This treatment offers a wide variety of benefits and abilities. It can reduce lines and wrinkles, tighten loose skin, even out textured skin, reduce hyperpigmentation, fade acne scars and stretch marks, and even reduce some fat.
Morpheus8 is unique from other devices because it’s heat can be customized to reach even the deep dermal layers of the skin. Depending on your skin and concerns, we will set the device to heat the right depth for you.
You can optimize Morpheus8 results by using PRP.
You should notice a brighter, smoother, and firmer complexion within a few days after the swelling has come down, however collagen and elastin take time to develop so significant results will appear gradually and peak within three to six months. Then, you’ll need yearly sessions to maintain ramped-up collagen production.
For the best Morpheus8 results, you will likely need up to three sessions, spaced four to six weeks apart.
In a few days, and once the swelling in your face dissipates, you should see a brighter, smoother, and firmer complexion. Collagen and elastin production takes time. The most significant results will gradually appear within three to six months. After the peak of your results, you will need yearly maintenance sessions to keep up your skin’s boosted collagen levels.
Morpheus8 radiofrequenecy microneedling before and after
Before your treatment at Physimed MediSpa, we apply a topical anaesthetic to the area to minimize discomfort. An hour later, we perform the treatment. Morpheus8’s procedure lasts from 15 minutes to an hour depending on the size of the area being treated. The device will most likely cause some dull discomfort and you will feel some pressure as well, but it generally is not painful.
This procedure has a relatively easy recovery! Depending on your treatment, you will experience one to four days of redness, itchiness, and swelling. With Morpheus8, you can schedule your treatment on Friday and look normal and healed by Monday. You may see pin pricks left by the needles that will fade within two weeks. Additionally, in the few weeks post-treatment you should avoid sun exposure and wear a broad-spectrum sunscreen when necessary in order to protect your skin.
Morpheus8 is perfect for any patient looking for a facelift or necklift but dreading the invasiveness of the procedure. The results are surgical-like but it is minimally invasive. It yields long-lasting results without the major downtime that comes with surgery. If you are in your early 30’s or later, you can be a great candidate. This procedure offers great technology that is safe on all skin types, including darker tones.
Morpheus8 can effectively treat any area of the body in need of tightening and/or resurfacing. Areas with loose skin and deep furrows like jowls and a double chin are great treatment areas. The most common areas are the lower face and neck. However, Morpheus8 is great for wrinkles, discolouration, acne scars, stretch marks, cellulite symptoms, and loose skin all over the body and face as well.
Morpheus8 is HealthCanada and FDA-approved. It is a minimally invasive treatment that has minimal to no downtime.
The micro-needles used will cause some discomfort during the procedure. Additionally, the heat delivered to the skin can be uncomfortable to some. Despite this, the anaesthetic applied typically makes the procedure very tolerable.
Post-treatment, minor discomfort is to be expected, with some mild redness of the skin and slight swelling as well. This should disappear between a couple of hours and a couple of days. You might also have some light track marks, scabbing, peeling, bruising, or even oozing for up to 48 hours.
The risk of hyperpigmentation in your fresh, new skin is heightened. Therefore, to minimize the chance of this occurring, it’s important to avoid any sun exposure for at least a month after your procedure. Overall, your skin will be extra sensitive, so a habit of wearing sunscreen will be very helpful in preventing skin damage.
For maintenance, we recommend annual Morpheus8 treatments are recommended to maintain your skin’s tightness.
The closest alternative to Morpheus8 is fractionated Erb YAG laser resurfacing. This treatment creates microdamage with heat (but no needles) to stimulate collagen and elastin production.
It is considered more invasive than Morpheus8 and usually involves a full week of downtime as your skin heals.
Another alternative is a TCA chemical peel, which involves applying a potent liquid to the skin that penetrates to medium depth and deeper. This procedure is considered more invasive and involves a week of downtime.
