WHO ARE OUR PATIENTS:

Our weight loss program caters to men and women from the age of 16 years old to 80 years old. Some of them are mildly overweight needing to lose 15 to 20 pounds while others are morbidly obese having well over 100 pounds to lose. We see all kinds of patients that have different goals. Some patients want to lose weight to become healthy again either because they suffer from high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol count, heart disease, sleep apnea or osteoarthritis of the joints. Most of those patients want to get rid of their medications which we are often able to do through our weight loss program. Others want to lose weight for aesthetic reasons because they don’t feel good about themselves and have a hard time meeting people. Some patients want to lose weight to become fit again. No matter what your reasons are for losing weight, we are definitely able to help you.

DURATION OF THE PROGRAM:

The duration of the program varies according to the amount of weight that you have to lose. We have a three months, four months and six months program that can be extended if needed.



WHAT IS MEDISPA PHYSIMED WEIGHT LOSS PROGRAM:

Our weight loss program uses 3 main components:

A) Medication

Today, we have access to different medications that didn’t exist before that are very effective in helping our patients lose weight. When you take these medications, they activate receptors in your brain that make you feel less hungry, and they slow down the rate at which your stomach empties, which means you'll feel full for longer after a meal. This can help you eat less and reduce your calorie intake, leading to weight loss over time. In addition to reducing appetite, some of these medications can also help your body burn more calories by increasing the amount of energy you use during physical activity. This can lead to additional weight loss as you become more active and burn more calories throughout the day. These medications have been shown to be very effective for weight loss in clinical studies whereby it was demonstrated that overweight, obese and patients with type 2 diabetes who took those medications lost an average of 5 to 7 times more weight as compared to those who took a placebo. Those medications can be even more effective for weight loss when combined with a low-calorie diet and a regular exercise program. In clinical trials, people who took those medications along with a reduced-calorie diet and exercise lost significantly more weight than those who only made lifestyle changes without the medication. It is important to note that lifestyle changes such as diet and exercise are important components of weight loss and should not be overlooked. Combining those medications with a healthy lifestyle can help you achieve greater weight loss results than either option alone.

B) Diet

There are many different diets and approaches to weight loss, but we chose to keep it simple for our patients; that’s why they stick to it. No fancy meals, no protein shakes or bars and no supplements. Just one simple and effective strategy focusing on eating whole, nutrient-dense foods while reducing portions and eliminating processed and high-calorie foods. Here are some basic guidelines that we use for a simple diet to follow for weight loss. Please note that this becomes quite easy to do for our patients since their appetite is substantially reduced by the weight loss medication.

1. Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables: These foods are low in calories but high in fiber, vitamins, and minerals, which can help fill you up and support overall health.

2. Choose lean protein sources: Examples include chicken, turkey, fish, tofu, and legumes. Protein can help keep you feeling full and satisfied, and also supports muscle growth and repair.

3. Reduce refined carbohydrates: This includes white bread, pasta, and sugary foods. These foods can cause blood sugar spikes and crashes, leading to increased hunger and cravings.

4. Limit added sugars: Sugary drinks and snacks can be high in calories and offer little nutritional value. Try to choose water, unsweetened tea, or sparkling water instead.

5. Practice portion control: Eating too much of even healthy foods can lead to weight gain. Use smaller plates, pay attention to hunger and fullness cues, and avoid mindless snacking. Again, this becomes quite easy to do for our patients since their appetite is substantially reduced by the weight loss medication. Remember, sustainable weight loss is about making long-term lifestyle changes rather than following a strict diet for a short period of time. We help our patients focus on making healthy choices most of the time and allowing for occasional treats or indulgences in moderation.

C) Exercise (remote pt monitoring)

Its important to remember that weight loss is a gradual and ongoing process, and making sustainable lifestyle changes is key to achieving and maintaining a healthy weight. Exercising on a regular basis is very much part of this lifestyle changes. However, in order to stick to a consistent exercise regimen, it has to be fun for our patients and that is precisely what we emphasize in our program. We also added an innovative tool to our program called “remote patient monitoring”. In our experience, this is a very effective tool for weight loss, especially when tracking weight with a smart scale and fitness activity with a smartwatch. By using these devices, we can monitor our patients' progress on a daily basis and provide ongoing personalized feedback, coaching, and support. Studies have shown that remote patient monitoring can lead to greater weight loss than traditional weight loss interventions. In one study where participants who used remote patient monitoring to track their weight and physical activity, it was demonstrated that they lost significantly more weight than those who received standard care.

Using a smart scale to track weight can provide more accurate and consistent measurements, which can help us and our patients better monitor progress over time. Similarly, using a smartwatch to track fitness activity can provide more detailed information about physical activity levels, which can help our patients set and achieve goals, and make adjustments as needed. We have witnessed on our patients a huge impact on their motivation and discipline while helping them stay on track during their weight loss journey with us. Not only do we track the weight, but more importantly, we tract our patients body composition using a special computerized scale that analyses the ratio between muscle and fat. It not rally important to lose weight. What we really strive to do for our patients is to help them reduce their fat content.

MAINTENANCE PROGRAM

It is one thing to loose your weight and reach your goals, it’s another thing to be able to maintain it. Maintaining weight loss can be quite challenging for a lot of people, but not really with our program because we focus a lot on helping our patients embrace new healthy lifestyle habits. That is really the key. There is no magic! No matter what weight loss program you follow, if you don’t change your lifestyle that got you to become overweight, you will not be able to keep the weight off. Our maintenance program ensures that you do. Here are several strategies we use:

1. We continue to monitor and meet our patients on a regular basis but much less frequently than during the actual weight loss program providing them with the support they need while still making them accountable. We continue to encourage our patients to eat a healthy and balanced diet: Focusing on eating whole, nutrient-dense foods, and limiting processed and high- calorie foods while practicing portions control.

2. We encourage our patients to stay physically active while still monitoring them with their smart watch: Regular exercise can help burn calories, build muscle, and improve overall health.

3. We encourage our patients to monitor their weight regularly that we continue to track through our remote patient monitoring program: Weighing yourself regularly (e.g. weekly) can help you stay aware of any changes and make adjustments as needed. We encourage our patients to set realistic goals: Aim to maintain a weight that is realistic and sustainable for you, rather than trying to achieve an unrealistic or unhealthy weight.

4. We encourage our patients to practice mindfulness and self-care: Prioritize activities that help reduce stress, such as meditation, yoga, or hobbies that you enjoy.


Remember, maintaining weight loss is a lifelong journey, and it Is normal to experience ups and downs along the way. Be kind to yourself, and focus on progress rather than perfection. If you do experience weight regain, don't give up. Simply re-evaluate your habits and make adjustments as needed to get back on track.
