Resting heart rate: the alarm signal that your body sends you
Dear patients and friends,
In our quest for better preventive health and increased longevity, we tend to ignore the subtle signals that our body sends us. Yet, it is a cardiovascular indicator that I always monitor closely on a daily basis: my resting heart rate (FCR).
Did you know that clinical studies show that chronic elevation of, even if it is only a small amount, Resting heart rate may be associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular mortality of the order of 20 % to 30 %?
In everyday life, when your HRV increases by only 5 to 10 beats per minute compared to your reference value, it is the indisputable sign that your body is out of balance—whether it is the beginning of an infection, chronic fatigue, oxidative stress, or an urgent need for recovery.
Personally, as soon as I notice an increase of five beats or more in my monitoring, I immediately react: I slow down the pace, I take a full day off, and I avoid putting unnecessary stress on my body.
In this video, I explain in detail why resting heart rate is a valuable indicator of your fitness and how learning to listen to it on a daily basis can transform your approach to overall health.
See you very soon,
